Leland Byrd Papers  

The Byrd Papers contain 3.75 feet of scrapbooks, papers, newspaper clippings, and artifacts regarding Leland Byrd, his time as a high school and collegiate basketball player, and his career as athletic director at Glenville State University, Miami Dade College, West Virginia University, and Western Michigan University, and as executive director of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Henry C. Davis Mantel and Tile Company of Morgantown Ledgers and Other Materials  

This collection includes 4.17 feet of assorted ledgers and other business records of the Henry C. Davis Mantel and Tile Company (now Davis Kitchen and Tile) of Morgantown, West Virginia. Business records also include trade publications, catalogs, and instructional documents for various tile manufacturers. Also includes some Henry C. Davis family papers, including postcard correspondence, photographs, and other material.

Anthony Feyer, Artist, Papers regarding the Snake Handling Community in Jolo, West Virginia 

The Feyer Papers include .65 feet of slides, papers, recordings, serigraph prints, and other research material regarding the Church of the Lord Jesus with Signs Following, a snake handling community in Jolo. Also includes the vinyl record They Call Us Holy Rollers: Serpent Handling Southern Gospel from the Church of the Lord Jesus, Jolo, West Virginia and digital copies of the short film Homecoming ‘92.

Lisa Diehl Papers  

This collection includes one foot of materials pertaining to Lisa Diehl, an advocate for women on issues related to nontraditional employment, economic self-sufficiency, and non-discrimination. She was a carpenter’s apprentice in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, 1977-1983. Later, she worked for West Virginia Citizen Action, the Center for Economic Options in Charleston and West Virginians for Affordable Health Care. In 2000, she founded West Virginia Women Work, an organization that supports and advocates for education, employment, and economic equity of all women. The collection mostly documents her work on anti-discrimination and women’s employment rights and includes clippings, correspondence, conference materials, publications, and more.

Allegheny Highlands Project Records  

The Allegheny Highlands Project Records collection consists of 44.5 feet of the administrative files of the Allegheny Highlands Project (AHP), September 1970-July 1980, as well as records of farming activities of farms enrolled in the program. Administrative records for the operation of AHP include planning documents, policies and correspondence, budgets and other financial documents, progress reports, vendor records, promotional materials, and job applications and other personnel-related papers including WVU faculty reviews. Audio and visual materials include a promotional film, a recording of radio segments, and photographs of livestock, farms, administrators, participants, and field days.

Michael Hotopp, Theatrical, Lighting, and Set Designer, Papers 

The Hotopp Papers are comprised of 9.5 feet of records documenting the life and career of Michael Hotopp, a native of Charleston, West Virginia. Hotopp was an award-winning theatrical and television scenic and lighting designer and producer, nominated for 15 Emmy Awards and winning seven over the span of his career. The collection includes playbills, photographs, set and lighting designs, programs, clippings, and more.

This collection includes a handwritten personal account of John Brown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry, [West] Virginia in 1859, dictated by Edward White to his daughter, Margaret White Longley, featuring his viewpoints on enslavement and abolitionists.

This collection includes materials detailing construction supplies for groups working on the 1912 connection of the Monongahela Railroad to the Buckhannon and Northern Railroad, as well as dates and hours of “firing, hosteling, and running” of a board house for railroad workers.
