The WVU Humanities Center is pleased to announce its funding opportunities for the 2024-2025 academic year. Full-time faculty members and faculty equivalent academic professionals (FEAPs) at WVU are encouraged to explore the diverse range of grants available to support their research, teaching and scholarly endeavors in the humanities.
The Humanities Center fosters
vibrant intellectual communities across disciplines. These grants provide
crucial resources for faculty to pursue innovative projects, engage in
collaborative scholarship and enhance the humanities experience for our
students and broader community.
“We look forward to supporting
new, innovative and impactful scholarship in the humanities at
WVU,” WVU Humanities Center Director Renée Nicholson said.
The Center’s grant programs include:
· Fellowships: Support dedicated research and creative projects in the humanities for tenured or tenure-track faculty.
· Humanities Collaboration Grants: Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and community-engaged learning through projects involving two or more faculty members.
· Pedagogy Innovation Grants: Encourage the development and implementation of innovative teaching approaches in humanities courses.
· Research Support (formerly Travel Grants): Provide assistance with travel expenses related to research presentations, fieldwork, and professional development opportunities.
Eligibility for all grants extends
to tenured or tenure-track, teaching, service, clinical, research, librarian
and continuing visiting faculty members. Past recipients of Humanities Center
grants may apply but must demonstrate how their proposed project differs from
their previous funded work. For detailed eligibility criteria and submission
