WVU Art in the Libraries is proud to host the 2025 Art in the Libraries Faculty Exhibit Award winner and Professor of Landscape Architecture, Judith Wasserman, for a talk about—and to showcase—her exhibit “Activating Urban Space for Health and Movement.”

This exhibit and talk will explore how public space can be a catalyst for physical wellbeing, creativity, and joy. Featuring a series of photo-based display panels, the exhibit showcases images of dance and movement in public spaces, captured and curated to highlight the often-overlooked role of urban design in supporting health. Complementing the photography will be a set of movement instructions designed to promote wellness through simple, everyday physical activity.
Join Art in the Libraries October 7, at 5 p.m. in room 1020 on the first floor of the Downtown Library in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Wasserman will discuss the process of creating this exhibition along with her research. Visitors will be invited to engage with the prompts in and around the library, reimagining familiar spaces as opportunities for stretching, stepping, and breathing. Reflect with us on how movement can reduce stress, spark joy, and foster community.
