Neal Museum to open new exhibit May 9 with Ohio Valley General Hospital and Medical Center documentary screening

On May 9, the William A. Neal Museum of the Health Sciences will host a documentary screening of “Beacon Light: A History of Ohio Valley General Hospital and Ohio Valley Medical Center” to celebrate the opening of its new exhibit, “Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing.”

Founded in 1890, the documentary highlights the history of the Wheeling, West Virginia hospital, which was essential to the region until its closing in 2019. The OVGH School of Nursing was the first school of nursing in West Virginia.
