She also worked as a student assistant for the Historic Maryland Newspapers Project. Bridget holds an undergraduate degree in dance and history from Barnard College, Columbia University. Before starting her graduate studies, she spent five years as the artistic coordinator for Houston Ballet.
Instruction at the WVRHC is available for courses in any discipline whose instructors wish to incorporate primary source literacy and research into their curricula. A visit to the WVRHC puts students in direct contact with history and gives them hands-on experience with historical research. Class sessions may introduce students to working with archival materials or assist them with using archival materials in their own projects. The collection at the WVRHC covers a wide array of subjects related to West Virginia, including politics, industry, environment, literature, folk culture, social movements, and more. Instruction can focus on specific areas of the collection or types of sources.
If you are interested in scheduling instruction or developing a plan for incorporating archival research into your curriculum, you can submit an instruction request form to partner with our experts like Bridget.
